There have been so many challenges each year and 2023 was no exception. But thanks to our staff, family members, Board of Directors and our generous donors, we have once again managed to overcome and push aside each obstacle in our way.Greenwood House is now the only not-for-profit, freestanding skilled nursing facility in Mercer County. At a time when long-term care is under intense scrutiny, Greenwood House is showing that there is a difference when it comes to quality. We strive to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care possible to the residents we serve. And people notice.The pandemic. It now seems that everyone talks about a time before COVID and a time after COVID. While Greenwood House is essentially in post-COVID operations, we maintain our vigilance in preventing a recurrence of the disease and following all regulatory requirements with regard to infection control.Greenwood House has maintained its five-star rating. This means we excel in staffing, state survey outcomes and quality measures.Our census has begun to repair itself. We have finally surpassed 115 residents filling our beds, a much-needed income resource. The census is a top priority and we continue to encourage appropriate referrals from our surrounding hospitals and the community.4'
